'A TASTE OF SILKS' GIVEAWAY... I WON! :)))

A winner in "A TASTE OF SILKS" giveaway.....
http://diondior.blogspot.com/2012/05/silks-winner.html

I have been gone most of the day.. to my appointment with the orthopedic doctor.  Remember I wrote about 'extra' pain on top of 'always' pain.... well, I've found out what is wrong... and on Thursday morning ...I will finally get some relief.  I'm so happy... this 'extra' pain is excruciating.

It seems I have a 'Baker's cyst' that one can't see or feel physically... the pain it causes is so bad.  It is located in behind the knee, and is swollen inside pressing against the hamstring (though you can't see it).

That means each time I walk, move or bend my knee... the pain is just 'too much'.  I had x-rays and the orthopedic doctor used a ultra-sound to look at it... so, on Thursday I will go to have a procedure done by the radiologist... he'll aspirate it.  I look forward to relief...... :)))  Oh.. I asked why was it called a 'Baker's cyst'... it's named after a doctor.

I got home, turned on my computer ... saw on my emails an email from Dion Dior that I'd won the 'A Taste Of Silks' contest.  I am so excited... I know you all see her paintings on my Facebook... oh my, how beautiful they are!  Also, she did the dragonfly in memory, dedication of Tommy that I have here on my blog... you can see it on the right where the photos are.  I am so happy to have won!  Those colors are colors like I truly love!

Before I went to the doctor appointment... I did stop off at Goodwill to enjoy browsing in the book department.  I found several books that are treasures to me.  Some are cookbooks, two are on making ponds and outside fountains in the yard, one is on tiling, the other one I'm very interested in... the meaning of scribbles that children do.

Even with all the 'extra' pain today, it has been a nice day.  I think I'll elevate my leg now, and put an ice pack on it ever so often.  Goodnight everyone!

Love, Granny Gee
