I Closed My Eyes In Peace... Knowing I Was Loved
I Closed My Eyes In Peace... Knowing I Was Loved
By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee
When I die, I hope it's in your arms
When the angels come to take me away
I want to go feeling your love
You feeling my love for you
I want to close my eyes in peace
I know tears will roll down our cheeks
To reflect the love we feel in our hearts
Oh God.. it hurts so bad
I have to go, my dearest, my darling
I love you with my very heart
I don't want to go
My body has given out on me
I can't go any farther than here
You holding me in your arms
Looking down at me with a soft smile
Your words saying 'I love you, Baby Girl'
Just before I close my eyes for the last time
I look up at you, not wanting to
Let go of you, let go of life
I closed my eyes in peace, knowing I was loved

I do hope you are not planning to "go" any time soon! That does sound like a nice way to go though. Let's wait a good long while before you do this. Love, Ms. Nancy
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm not planning 'on going' anytime, soon! The poem just came to me, I had to write it. :)))) Love, Gloria
