That Was Just One More Thing ... Life .............................
Skip Bates went for injections in both his eyes, yesterday. Oh my ...
I know it will take several days for him to feel better.
This trip by far was our most difficult trip to a doctor ... ever.
So many people making small rooms seem smaller ... Skip and I had a hard time ... my thought was why are so many people sharing one exam room?
It never occurred to Me to ask ... strange. Stress. I was just overwhelmed, stressed ... lately Life has made Me that way. This was just ... one more thing.
Stress maneuvering Skip, myself through the maze ... with his rollator ... he wasn't walking well. Life ...
Life was rough yesterday ... our ship kept running up on unexpected obstacles.
I remember stopping at one moment, closing my eyes, thinking ... God, please let us be home soon. Life ...
Stress ... too many people ... not knowing if someone is sick ... catching a cold, flu. Something we can ill afford at this time in our lives.
The thought still disturbs Me ... the little exam room with 3 little tables with vision equipment ... 6 people and ... I stood outside the door ...
Skip with his rollator ... never has this happened before. The room was approximately 9×9, if that.
Each tech came in with their patient, all older, each with their problems with walking, moving around.
I felt like I was in a surreal world. Why? was my thought. My thought now is ... why didn't I ask?
My thought now ... is watching for the next several days for any signs of Skip getting sick.
Another thought ... that will NOT happen again. That is how illnesses are spread to vulnerable people.
The sad thing is ... we never minded going there to his doctor ... excepting for the small parking lot.
We have never been in a situation through time to have to know ... hey, some of the exam rooms are too small ... until the small room held too many people.
Thinking about it ... I still can't believe it. I have worked in a medical environment (hospital) for years ... I never saw that happen.
Were we in a glitch or something? It was just ... damn surreal. That's right ... for ME to say it like that ... you know it was weird.
I so hope we aren't put in that situation again. Life ... has a way of throwing curves ... glitches ... to challenge us.
Well ... we got home 🏡 ... both of us completely wiped out. Then ... the phone began ringing over and over ... perfect timing for scam calls. I did say some cuss words.
Yes, I did say more than one cuss word yesterday, plus ... I thought them, too!
Yes ... I DID. I even thought several while writing this. What a .... day yesterday was!
Life ... this was just ... one more thing!
