Congestive Heart Failure ... Heart Catheterization ... Groin Bleed

Once again ... I almost lost my whole world. I'm so thankful I didn't. Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.

Before daylight, yesterday morning before daylight (March 14, 2016) ... I had to get Skip to the Emergency Room.  I drove almost 40 miles to get there.  Our local hospital only 4 miles from where we live ... is closed.

Skip went into congestive heart failure.  They got almost 4 liters of fluid.  He was literally 'drowning' in his own fluids.  He had difficulty breathing.  It was a good thing I got him to the hospital.

Today, Skip had a heart catheterization ... unexpectedly, they put a stent in his heart.  Not only that ... when he was brought back to his room ... a special nurse came in to pull the shaft out of the 'hole' where they did the procedure.
He had a groin bleed!

Below is what I wrote on my Facebook page when I updated everyone, thanked them for all the special prayers sent our way.  I copied, pasted it instead of trying to write it all again.  Below is all about what happened today:

March 15, 2016 ... Tuesday:

Today when Skip had his heart catheterization ... they had to put a stent in.

When they brought him back to the room, they waited a while and called a special nurse to come 'pull the shaft' out of the hole made for the heart catheterization.

Skip had a groin bleed. His skin began swelling ... blood underneath the skin. This normally doesn't happen. It was awful ... three nurses began putting pressure on his groin ... the pain was unbearable. Skip was almost screaming, his mouth turned white. His nurse gave him morphine to help the pain ... he still felt the pain.

The nurses kept the pressure on his groin, pressing very hard with their hands ... for 20 minutes. Then ... they put a device on his groin to keep pressure on the hole. After an hour, they released the device ... but, it's still in place ... 'just in case', and they wouldn't have to scramble putting it on him.

He has a good nurse who has been in his room all day ... she only went out for minutes at a time. She monitored him all day, and was still there when I left this evening.

Skip can't get up or move until 7:00 pm tonight. He has been through so much pain, and it was so scary when all that was going on. I stayed by his side touching him, speaking softly to him ... he was in agony for so long. His blood pressure kept going so high, then it would drop. What a roller coaster.

If the bleeding didn't stop ... a person can 'bleed out' in 7 minutes. This is one of those things 'that can go wrong'.

I was so glad when Skip got better. I stayed calm the whole time, but in my mind ... it was another story. I was so afraid. Gracious! I want to cry now, thinking about it.

smile emoticon
I know all the prayers that all of you sent ... made all the difference. Thank you from my Heart. It means the world to me.

It is possible ... Skip can come home tomorrow. I just hope he has a good night. I looked at the clock, he'll be able to sit up in 30 minutes smile emoticon Goodnight, everyone heart emoticon I send love to all of you, and I'm grateful for all of your caring.

Someone bought gas for me today, it meant the world to me. I don't know if they'll see this here ... I was on empty not knowing what to do. I can't tell you how much it meant. I didn't have to ask, they just did it. Thank you from my very Heart heart emoticon

Naked and Afraid ...

The good thing about imagining something is that you can come back to reality at anytime. Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.

By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny

Wow ... could you be dropped off like in an Amazon jungle ... naked?  Can you even imagine?  I would be very afraid.

I find it hard to imagine so, as I write about trying to 'feel' what it could even possibly be like ... I will imagine at the same time.  I haven't walked in these shoes ... they are some shoes I hope never to walk.

One of our favorite shows on Discovery Channel is ... Naked and Afraid.  The challenges they face are almost impossible to the average person.  How many people could survive staying out in the jungle with all the dangers ... naked, afraid for 21 days?

We are told nothing is impossible ... I have to disagree.  Some things are impossible ... for me.  I would have a fighting chance if I could keep my clothes, boots ... I'd probably learn to wear a hat of sorts.

Is your imagination going yet?  I heard something ... behind the rock over there!  It's growling ... I hear the undergrowth moving, rustling as whatever it is ... comes toward me!

I begin praying as I looked quickly around me for a place of safety!  The tree ... can I make it ... I look back quickly to see the bush nearest me move violently!  It's too late!  I run like hell, hoping I can climb the tree ... I hadn't climbed a tree since being a child.

The skin on my knees began to tear as I shimmied up the tree.  I could feel the wet, cold blood ... sticky!  I kept climbing ... getting to a huge limb I could sit on.  I hear the awful growling the whole time!

What is it, what is it?  I turn to sit down on the big limb, almost topple to the ground at what I see!  I close my eyes for a moment ... steady myself.

A huge crocodile is looking up at me!  It had to be about 15 feet long!  Will it stay there forever to wait for me to come down ... wait to eat me up?

I sat there in shock .... thirty minutes went by ... an hour.  The crocodile never moved ... it wanted me.  I listened to the water moving nearby ... I wished it would go back home.

My ass was hurting ... meaning the shock was wearing off.  The bark was digging into my naked skin.  Thankfully ... the limb I sat on was wide ... and not only that, I could nestle into where it joined the tree ... I did just that.

I was going to sit here ... forever.  I heard a sound below me.  I peeped down at the crocodile.  It's head was turned toward the water!  I heard a soft growl as it began slowly turning toward the water.  Is it going to leave?

I looked toward the water where its attention seemed drawn.  A delicate deer-like creature stood in the sunshine, head down to the water.  The crocodile was slowly inching its way toward it.

I fought the urge to shout, scare it away ... I just wanted the crocodile to leave so, I could escape.

I waited until the crocodile got closer to the deer ... I yelled as loud as I could.  I couldn't sit there, watch the crocodile attack it.  I just couldn't.  My yell startled the deer ... it quickly ran off into the brush.  The crocodile kept going until it reached the water ... slipped right into it.  I was safe!  The deer was safe!

Now ... to get down from this tree!  How in the world could I climb down.  The shock was gone ... so, no matter what I did now, everything would hurt my naked body.  My legs were sticky-red with blood. The bark cut, shredded my shins all the way up to my knees.  By this time, I was feeling the flies biting me.

How in the heck did I get up in this tree!  I just didn't think I could go back down it.

I heard the leaves rustling above me ... wonder what that is?  I looked up, two feet away was a ... giant-ass snake flicking its tongue out at me!

Help me!  Help me!  I began to scream ... the next thing I know is... I am on the ground standing on both feet.  I came down that tree before even I knew it!

I now ... know what would motivate me to survive ... fear.  Thankfully ... I had the burlap bag around my neck ... I had some fruit I'd found earlier, in it.  I stood there, enjoying the fruit ... something began licking my hand!  Oh my God!  What is it?

I was ready to take off running when I looked down ... came back to reality.  My dog was licking my hand.  I had just been in the grips of my imagination ... to see how it felt to walk in the shoes of people who are naked and afraid.

How about you?  Did you go along with me on my trip ... imagine your own story?  Did you imagine you were ... naked and afraid?

What one tool would you select to take with you?  I guess I would take the machete.  I'd like to take the chemical to purify water.

I like survival shows ... I get lost in thinking I'm right there along with them on their journeys in strange terrain ... filled with dangerous creatures, water that can make one sick.

I shiver with them as they sit in the cold with rain pouring down on them.  I wish they had made a shelter.  I am right there ... along for the ride.

Life Is What It Is ... So ... Is Death

Life Is What It Is ... So ... Is Death
By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny

Life is what it is ... so is death by Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.

Photo of chest with my brother, Rick-Rick's ashes.  Photo owned by me, and I have his ashes.  I also, have my mother's ashes in a rose chest.

I've been thinking a lot today ... no, lately ... no, thinking a lot all the time.  I never stop thinking. Truthfully, I think we all think while we think we don't.  Did I say the word 'think' enough?

I told Skip today that as I get older ... I am going to grow 'old' with a personality.  He told me I already have personality.  I smiled.

I mean ... I don't want to grow older ... all frumpy, gray-headed, have a big belly.  I want to look nice ... colorful ... have wild-hair ... wear high heels, skirts ... be sassy.  The ladies in this area cut their hair off short ... tease, spray it.  No, can do.  I would rather it look wild as hell, unkempt first.  I've let myself go long enough.

I don't knock anyone for their look, style.  I do get aggravated with mine.  I never used to look the way I do ... as I grew older  Life kicked my ass ... and this is the ... end result.

I've been giving this a lot of thought.  I always looked pretty through time until the past years.  Grief does something to a person.  Now ... it's only at times I do ... I have to feel very good to 'primp.'

Five years has gone by ... almost 6 years in May this year ... I've coped with my grief.

I have it in perspective ... all is in the proper place in my mind.  I'm alright now.  I'm going to be alright.  Sure, there will be times I'll grieve deeply.  I see by this time ... it will happen.  It'll happen out of the blue.  I will hold my ground, face it ... cope with it.  I'll write away my pain ... I won't talk about it, only write it.

Now ... today ... tomorrow ... I have my mind on my appearance.  I think it's time to work on my physical appearance.  I've done good with my mental health.  I had begun doing just that ... only to 'let go' when Skip had his stroke/pacemaker in January.

I lost my focus on myself.  I gained back 12 lbs. of the 30 some lbs. of weight I had lost.  I didn't care ... Skip and the Pups were my priority.  Life is like that ... our loved ones come first before anything.  I was going through a lot mentally ... I almost lost Skip.

Skip and our Pups are my whole world.  I honestly don't ... have anyone else in this big, old world.  Most people have a family support system ... I don't have such.  I am on my own ... no one in his or my family are close enough to be called ... close family.  So basically ... we are all we got.  That's okay ... we are used to that.

Skip and I attended a funeral recently.  We did a lot of talking afterwards.  We have decided to do what we have originally decided to do ... if one of us dies.

I don't want Skip to tell anyone that I've died ... just call the place where we want to have our bodies cremated ... do it quietly.  No viewing, no people ... no service at all.  I don't have any family close enough to call ... family.

Either Skip or I ... if one of us dies ... will quietly go pick up the ashes of the other to bring home.  They will be placed beside the 2 urns with the ashes of Fairchild, our 12 year old Rottie who died with cancer ... and Chadwick, our 7 year old Coy dog who died during a seizure.

Skip feels the same way .... I won't call anyone, nor let anyone know if ... he dies.  No one will know until later ... after all is said, done.  I will honor his wishes ... he will honor mine.

We both went over the information we have in place to take care of arrangements so, the other will know what to do.  That will make it better for the one left ... when grieving ... one can't think the best.

We talked about the material things we have ... we don't have a lot.  They will be sold for the one left ... to live on.  Nobody related to us will get anything ... there's no need to come around after one of us is gone.

Our wills state no one is to get anything ... only the one of us that is left gets all ... and it can be sold if we want to ... in order to help with the cost of living.

I'm sure everyone has in place what they want to do, have wishes for how things will be when they die.  No one likes to talk about these things.  Well ... we know with all we've been through ... we know things can happen ... it's time to face reality.  Life is what it is ... so, is death.

I Just Wish I Could Save the Whole World

Sometimes ... I feel very sad ... because I know reality is ... people, animals ... even me, my loved ones ... will have to die one day ... by Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.

Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny on Twitter

I have been watching the news this evening.  I saw video of the homes of hundreds of people being flooded ... rains, river.

My Heart breaks at the thought of people having to leave their homes ... possessions that make their homes a home ... their life comfortable.

The closest I can come to imagining what it's like is when we lost everything in a fire.  It happened so fast ... we couldn't save anything but, our Pups ... ourselves.

I feel sad, afraid for the many people who now, face life having to begin all over.  I know there are many tears being shed ... grief.  I am so very sorry.

I get the impression that now ... storms are doing such damage, destruction here in the United States like never before.  I know that when we get storms in our area in today's time ... storms always cause destruction ... even death.  I'm very nervous when storms come up.  It seems they are more intense now.

Do you ever worry about strangers ... care with your Heart ... feel pain at the thoughts of so many people suffering ... people you don't know?  Animals?  I think about such things all the time.  Sometimes, the thoughts overwhelm me ... I have to get my attention on something else.  I can't bear for people, animals to suffer.

I am bothered by the many animals we see ... laying on the roads from being hit by vehicles.  Do you know ... I say a prayer for every one I see.

My prayers go something like this:  I pray that you didn't suffer when you were struck by a vehicle.  I'm so sorry that you died.

Maybe you think I'm silly for caring ... it's true.  I've always done this.  I'll always do it.  I care for every animal I see.  I stop to move turtles out of the road.

My prayers are that you and your loved ones ... and animals are always safe.  Lately I've been sad when a family lost their dear loved one.  It hurt my Heart deeply.  Of course, I felt so much caring for the whole family ... and as a grieving mother ... I understood what the mother is going through ... will go through.  I'm so sorry ... I would walk that road of grief she is on now for her if I could ... I know the way ... and know it well. I'm so sorry for what she'll have to go through in her journey of grief.

These are thoughts on my mind tonight as I sit here at my computer.  I feel such love, caring ... for people, animals I don't even know.  I worry for the world.  I just wish I could save the whole world.

Note by this Author:

These are true thoughts I feel ... no matter if they sound silly.  I truly wish ... I could save this whole world.  I know I can't in reality ... doesn't stop me from wishing with my Heart that I could.  I'm so sorry when people have to feel pain, grief, heartache.  I know how it feels ... it hurts so bad.

I Know What I Believe, Who I Am ... I Just Don't Know Where I Belong

I Know What I Believe, Who I Am ... I Just Don't Know Where I Belong

By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny on Twitter

I know what I believe ... who I am ... I just don't know where I belong ... by Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.

I know I believe in God, Jesus.  I grew up going to church ... the old ladies always swung by Hell to pick up the little girl who looked worth saving ... took her to church with them on Sunday mornings ... Sunday nights, Wednesday night prayer meetings ... and revivals.

I had a foundation underneath me ... that has always been there through time.  I didn't always attend church faithfully.  Why?  Do you want to know truthfully ... why?

You won't like why? if you are one of the people I speak of.  You may say ... okay, Gloria ... you go for what you believe ... not for the people who also, go.  I say ... I won't say.

We always try to be where our 'birds of a feather' ... flock.  The birds of a feather I would like to flock with ... are few, far between.  I'm different ... I know I am ... and it is just the way it is.  Oh yes, I can pretend right with the others ... when I have occasion to have to be in a ... different flock.  After all ... we have to blend in for whatever reason.  I can do it well ... my problem is ... I become frustrated.

Become frustrated with f___ing, fakey-ass people.  You know how we really know people ... then, to see them put themselves out in public ... pretending to be the pillars of the community ... the all-good, wonderful role models.

I want to just get up, walk out.  I'm not that kind of bird.  I don't want to hang with that sort of bird.  I only rub shoulders when I have to ... and get the heck away as soon as I can.  I can only hold my mouth so far ... if someone begins cramming their beliefs, mess down my throat.

I'm just not going to stand there ... be docile, take it.  A weaker person will ... and it hurts me seeing someone ... just trying to belong ... when no matter what they do ... they won't ever be good enough, or anybody enough to be a part of the 'high and mighty'.  The 'high and mighty' need their gofers to do their fetching, their dirty deeds.  They won't ever fully accept you, the weak one.  To belong ... people will do anything.

This doesn't apply to everyone ... but, there's no way ... you ... can convince me you never see this in the order of things every day in your life.  If you don't ... you could be an ostrich in the bird family ... you might want to keep that head in the sand.  I suffocate if I have to eat that much ... sand.

I think of church ... and here, I'm not going to argue with anyone about this ... I respect your opinion ... but, this is my Gloria Opinion, you can also ... respect mine.  I feel the church is/are ... people, not the building.

People are the ones who can make one feel good being around them ... but, when their minds are only on themselves ... how much better than they are dressed than anyone else, how much they have more than their neighbor ... on their own birds of a feather ... looking damned ridiculuous a lot of time, if you ask me ... I don't choose to let those people be my role model, nor be a bird of a feather in their flock.

I'm too real to play games.  I've lived life too-real to play games.  I live in reality ... how life really is. I'm not going to walk around in my high heels teetering-tottering all over the place ... my skirt too short so, I can attract someone else's husband while he sits over there ... sneaking a peek or two, drool running out of his mouth.

I'm not going silly laugh the loudest to gain lots of attention from all the birds around me.  I'm not going to sling my hair all around, hold my neck, head so straight ... put that snooty look on my face like I smell s___t ... to let others think I'm so much better than them.

I think more of myself ... respect myself to act decent when around others.  I'm not better than anyone ... nor is anyone better than me.  In reality ... if you live in the real world, you know I'm right.  Don't you also, get sick of the bulls__t?

I loved going to church as a child ... even when the preacher's son tried to corral me up in a dark corner scaring me, groping me, kissing me ... as a little girl.  Even when the kids wanted to run around with straight pins ... stick each other with them until they bled.  Even when the preacher ran after me in a darkened room when visiting a church ... to go to the bathroom in their house.

Even when an old lady took me to a church like I'd never been in my life ... people began falling in the floor, foaming at the mouth, began screaming strange sounds ... as a little girl I was terrified.

I still loved church but, I never chose to attend that type church again.  They weren't my birds of a feather ... I never desired to be a part of their flock.  I didn't knock them as I became older, knew about them ... we all have our beliefs.  I respected theirs, and I went my way.

Through time, I've tried to make myself go to church.  I couldn't go the second time ... I didn't choose to play games with people to be a part of their flock.  I can pretend with the best of them ... I don't choose to pretend ... I am only ... me.  You either like me ... not like me.  The way I feel about that is ... the choice is yours.  I can't cry if you don't.

You probably haven't lived real life like I have to know there's more in life than being something you aren't.  I've played that game through time ... life whipped my ass.  It shaped, molded me into a very serious person ... who knows life is about real things ... knowing not to waste time on pretentious people, material things.  I know it's just a matter of time ... each of them will learn just as I did.

I love God ... I believe with my Heart.  I believe in the power of prayer ... I believe in the goodness of people.  I want to give the benefit of the doubt to others until I know better.  I want to give before taking ... I love people, animals ... I'm most forgiving of others where others can't forgive.

So ... my question is:  what am I if I can't sit in a church ... listen to words that a person is paid to preach ... that puts people to sleep? Words that don't touch my very Heart ... words that make people restless for church to hurry, be over?

My opinion is that as soon as that service is over ... it's best to go my way.  I don't belong here if I can't feel love, peace, happiness ... connection to the people, preacher.

What about listening to a preacher who goes off on some path of preaching about God ... has nothing to do with a funeral he is there for?  What about me becoming frustrated and I'm thinking that's pure ... bulls__t ... you are forgetting the family sitting in front of you ... preaching to hear your own voice.

What about them as that preacher yells about God Almighty, tells you that you're going to be smited down for your sins you evil-doers! ... they are sitting there in their own torment, needing soft words ... comfort from someone ... the birds of their own flock?

Do you ... think ... they need to hear a man stand in front of them red-faced, screaming out to God ... making their grief, pain worse ... making them begin to shake from the pure anger in that man's voice?  They are going through the worse thing in their life ... they've lost a loved one ... does this help things?

My Gloria Opinion ... a big, fat NO.  If it had been when my child died ... I would have gotten up ... walked out.  The grief was too much when my child died ... I couldn't have taken the loud voice preaching ... screaming about all 'these other things' ... other than my child had just died.  It would have been like sitting there while a big hammer beat me lower, lower into my pew.

I don't knock any of this ... a lot of you are going to say ... well, Gloria ... it is the way it is ... this is the way we worship ... doesn't matter what that preacher says, does ... he knows best ... after all, he is a man of God.  We have to listen ... we have to believe ... he is our preacher and we know he can't say, do a thing ... wrong.  I say ... I respect that ... I go my way as quickly as possible.  I am not that kind of bird.

So, my readers ... you know me through the years ... time ... tell me what am I when I say these things.  Am I a heathen?  I know I'm not that ... I believe in God with my very being.  I believe in being as good as I can be.  I would give my last cent, possession to help another.  I love everyone, even care for people I don't like.  I don't sit to gossip, tear down others with awful words ... I stay to myself because most people aren't like me.  I don't try to take from others ... take advantage.  I'm as honest as you get ... I love animals, homeless people.  I could keep on.

I do say ugly words sometimes ... they are in me ... I learned them when I lived in Hell as a child. Even trying to be as good of person as possible ... sometimes, I say a dirty word.  I told you I'm not perfect ... I don't pretend.  I'm also, high-tempered ... and I always try to control it ... I got it naturally.

So, what am I?  Has life stripped me of my rose-colored glasses ... made me see what I shouldn't see ... so, I can't ... belong to the flocks of birds I speak of?

Should I pretend ... be other than what I am ... to make others happy by doing what they believe ... than being myself?  Should I slowly die inside being other than what I am ... to belong to some flock of ... ass-hole birds I'm not anything like?  Just to belong?  Just to make ... you ... like me?

I mean ... seriously ... what kind of bird ... am I?  Or ... am I just a damn heathen ... don't know it?  I mean ... seriously ... should I be an ostrich ... eat ... sand?

Note by this Author:

I have tried through time to belong to a church ... to groups of people.  I just couldn't ... I couldn't bear the thoughts of pretending, smiling ... being other than myself.

I didn't want to play games of who is prettiest ... how much my clothes cost ... gossip about Mary, Sue and Jane ... and Jane's husband ... how good-looking he is and what I'd like to do.

I admit ... I've tried through time to be like other birds to belong in their flocks ... I couldn't do it for long.  Those good flocks of birds do bad things at times.  They tear down other people to look good. I can't do that ... I don't sit, gossip, tell everything on people I know.  I never have ... I never will.  I don't even try to destroy my enemies, people I truly despise.  I truly could ... but, that's not me.  I couldn't live with intentionally hurting others ... unless pushed to the point I have to.

Yesterday ... it came to me after I witnessed some things ... what in the hell am I?  I know what I believe in, who I am ... I just don't know where I belong.

Always a Grieving Mother

Always a Grieving Mother
By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny on Twitter

Tonight I try to write the darkness, grief, pain away ... I'm afraid. Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee

Darkness ... pain ... tears ... panic ... fear
Birds flutter in one's stomach
Wings flapping, trying to find the way out
Of the bird cage they are trapped in

Trapped in one's mind with the terrible knowledge
Oh my God ... my child has died
Looking down into your child's face
Eyes closed, no sounds ... still ... forever

Hand touching a precious face that used to smile
Eyelashes laying against cheeks as if asleep
Holding a familiar hand you held many times
When they were but ... a little girl, little boy

Patting ... feeling for warmth, comfort
You touch your child's head, forehead ... cheeks
Cold ... no warmth ... you look closer ... oh my God
My child is gone ... the knowledge is too great

For any one mother to hold inside her mind
Please help me ... I'm trapped in myself, I can't escape
Birds flapping their wings against the bars
Help me, please let me out

Medicine to calm, numb a mother's mind
There's no way to bear such a terrible weight
A weight no one can feel, see
Invisible grief that can break a mother down

Lips won't smile ever again ... eyes won't open to see
A mother standing in tears ... her child has died
No matter how hard she cries, begs ... her child will never
Smile with those lips at her, open those eyes to see her ... again

The road of grief ... in darkness a mother walks
Tears of grief ... from the deepest ocean of pain
She will cry them forever ... always a grieving mother
Until one day she dies ... her pain will fade away

Note by this Author:

Tonight I am having to write grief ... today I saw a grieving mother who has just begun the long journey I've been on for five years.  I felt her pain, my Heart cries for her ... I felt her darkness, panic, shock ... her child has died.

I am feeling my own grief tonight ... I've never seen another grieving mother.  I saw myself today ... I saw the awful pain on her face ... on the father's face ... as they stood side by side ... looking down at a life they created ... a life just taken from them.

I felt my Heart break at their pain.  Tonight I still feel as if I've been in a storm ... a raging storm.  Tonight I'm writing the pain to help it go away.  I went into darkness today ... and I was afraid.

I can only keep writing ... to make the darkness, grief ... pain go away.  I feel for this mother with my Heart ... I feel for the father ... sister who has lost her only sibling whom she was close to ... for the little children left behind.  I know thoughts of them will stay in my mind ... because I care with my very Heart.

New ... Grieving Mother

By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny on Twitter

A new, grieving mother just got on the long, dark road of grief I've traveled since my own child died ... I cared with my Heart. Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee

My eyes overflow with tears
Heart overwhelmed with grief
I'm sad as sad can be

I'm a grieving mother who has traveled far
Today I met a new grieving mother
Who has just found herself on this road

Road of grief, pain no one knows
But ... only someone who has lost a child
My Heart pure breaks for her

I looked at her today ... I saw myself
Standing there ... I wanted to weep
Her face lined with pain as she looked

Looked at her child, her beautiful daughter
Laying on silk ... like Sleeping Beauty
My Heart cared more than I could possibly say

I put my arms around her shoulders
I wished to take the pain away
I looked closely in her face

She's in shock now ... she's not begun her travels yet
Along the road of grief, pain ... darkness
I hurt for what she must go through

I met a new grieving mother today
I'm so sorry for the pain she must go through
No one can take it away ...

No more than they can take away her love
For her child, that's why she must grieve
Grief is pure love ... pain for the loss of a loved one

I wanted to wrap my arms around her
Like a mother hen does with her babies
Comfort her until all the pain goes away

No one can do that in reality
We have to walk our own roads in grief
Travel through darkness, raging storms

No one can do it for us ... if they could
I would surely walk for this new grieving mother
To keep her from feeling the pain I know

My Heart is broken ... filled with many tears
Tears and love, caring
For this new grieving mother I saw today

Note from this author:

My Heart pure breaks for the new, grieving mother I saw today ... not only grieving mother ... oh my, the grieving father, also.

I looked in their faces, saw ... felt their pain.  I saw the grief etching itself into their faces ... swollen from the tears they have cried.  Their eyes were darkened with such grief that makes you want to weep when seeing.

I am a grieving mother ... even after five years.  My pain is just as deep as it ever was.  From time to time I go through bouts of pure grief ... pure agony in my soul.  A mother never gets over losing her child.

Today is my first time seeing a grieving mother who doesn't know what grieving is yet.  She is in pure shock of losing her child ... she hasn't begun grieving.  I wish I could grieve for her ... because I've already traveled down this road.  I wish I could give her comfort ... I can only say I care with my very Heart.

My Heart breaks ... because each day she will have to go pure ... living Hell ... knowing her child's gone ... never coming back.  She'll never hear the special sounds her child made when laughing, speaking, doing things, walking.  She'll never see her special smile that melts a mother's heart, again.  So many ... nevers.

I can only say this has affected me deeply ... I feel it to my very soul.  I hurt for this special family I saw today ... grieving mother, grieving father ... grieving children.  There's not a thing I can do to take away the awful pain they are going through for a very long time.  I would if I could ... my grief has only made me stronger.

An Unseen Hand Tried to Open the Fabric of Air ...

My son, Tommy and his little son, Taban.  (Date is incorrect on this photo ... should be 2009)

In my lifetime ... strange things happen ... I stay calm because I know they are real ... and I want to see, not run away. Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.

I wrote a true story this morning on one of my writing sites.  I entitled it ... Wrinkled Air. Here's the link to the story:

http://new.mylot.com/post/2900107/wrinkled-air

I wrote about how the very air wrinkled in front of me ... all stayed still and normal ... excepting the one area in front of me.  It was as if an unseen hand took the fabric of air ... like curtain fabric ... began to squeeze it with unseen fingers ... to open it.

I was on the cellphone with Skip as it happened.  I began describing it to him.  Skip knows I tell truthfully what happens whenever something does ... even to the point where if I'm at fault, or something I've said, done is unfavorable ... I'll tell him.  I don't tell things to be telling them.

Most of the time, I don't tell strange things I see, experience ... at all.  It's easier to write them as I think about what happened.  I've never been good at running to tell everything I see, hear. That's not 'me'.

The very air in that one spot (you can read my story at the link) ... began to wrinkle up ... clear air wrinkled in front of my eyes as I told Skip what was happening.  I could see through the air ... and see the disturbance at the same time.

The air stayed disturbed in that one spot about where Tommy's hands would be if he'd been trying to open the curtain of air.  I was up on the edge of the chair I sat in.  I knew Tommy would step out at any second!

The wrinkled air smoothed back out ... the air was normal again ... no shimmering, wrinkling.
Tommy didn't step out ... I never saw him at all.  I do know inside that it was Tommy.  I wasn't afraid ... I was focused on what was happening in front of my very eyes.

I was left sitting there with tears in my eyes.  I was excited at what had just occurred ... my mind kept playing over and over ... how the very air wrinkled, shimmered up.  All the air stayed normal around it ... I was pure amazed.

This is a true story ... of just one of the strange things that have happened in my lifetime.  Since I know they really happened ... I experienced them ... I know them to be true.  If anyone else tells these things ... I pay close attention as I listen to their tales.

Love of the Purest Kind ...

By Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee/@GeeGranny on Twitter

Have you ever felt an overwhelming sense of love when you looked at someone?  I know you have.

I have many times in my life ... like when looking at my husband, Pups ...  when my son lived.  Not only them ... but, other loved ones.

It happens when you look up ... see a loved one in a special light ... such love fills your heart until you can't hardly bear it ... because it's so much love.  It can even be a little painful ... so much love!  You can think of them ... and feel the love swell your heart with such emotion.

Today ... I felt such love fill my Heart when I thought of Skip.  He was in the kitchen ... I was in the hallway.  I walked to him, put my arms around him gently so, as not to cause pain to the area where he just had a pacemaker put in.

I hugged him with so much love ... told him I loved him with my very Heart.  I kissed him on his cheek.

That's love at its purest ... overwhelming love straight from one's very Heart.

You know it's pure love when your Heart fills up ... you feel such deep emotion ... over-whelming emotion. Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee

I love my husband, Skip and our 2 Pups with my very Heart.  This is the kind of love I have for them ... pure love from my Heart.  I don't mind ... that the whole world knows it <3
